What is the ITIL Managing Professional Transition (Version 5)?
It is a fast-track, cost-effective training module designed to help existing ITIL 4 Managing Professionals, Masters, and v3 Experts seamlessly upgrade to ITIL Version 5 in 5 days, rather than the standard 8 to 12-day route.
Who is eligible for the ITIL MPT (Version 5)?
This module is exclusively for holders of ITIL 4 Managing Professional, ITIL 4 Master, ITIL v3 Expert, or ITIL v3 Master designations. PeopleCert requires proof of an eligible designation before releasing exam results - this is not available to Foundation-only or individual Specialist module holders.
How many exams do I need to pass?
Two exams are required: (1) the MPT – Product, Service, Experience exam, which covers three subject areas in one sitting; and (2) the ITIL Transformation exam. You must pass both to achieve ITIL Managing Professional (Version 5). Both vouchers are included in the $2,499 course price - no additional purchase needed.
Are the exams open-book or closed-book?
Both MPT (Version 5) exams are open-book, as confirmed by PeopleCert. This reflects ITIL Version 5's focus on applying concepts and informed decision-making, rather than memorization. Our course preparation covers open-book exam technique specifically.
Why is the MPT route faster than the standard pathway?
PeopleCert designed the Managing Professional Transition module specifically to recognize existing advanced ITIL expertise. Rather than retaking Foundation and multiple Specialist modules (8–12 days), eligible professionals follow a focused 5-day transition that covers only the key updates in Version 5 - skipping content your existing designation already covers.
Can I sit the exams in any order?
Yes. PeopleCert allows the two MPT (Version 5) exams to be scheduled separately and taken in any order. You do not need to pass one before sitting the other. Our team will guide you through the voucher scheduling process after the course.
What's included in the $2,499 price?
Everything: 5 days of live virtual instructor-led training, official PeopleCert training materials and learner workbook, both required exam vouchers, and four official PeopleCert eBooks (ITIL Product, Service, Experience, and Transformation - Version 5). There are no hidden add-ons for the core certification path.
What if I don't pass an exam on the first attempt?
Each exam voucher included covers one attempt. PeopleCert offers an optional Take2 add-on which provides one resit per exam - we can include this at enrollment if you'd like that safety net. Contact our team to discuss adding Take2 to your enrollment.
