The whole ITIL® 4 path, in one place
ITIL® 4 isn’t a single exam - it’s a tiered scheme of stackable modules. You start with one foundational course and then add modules that match your role and ambitions, building toward a recognized professional designation if you choose to. This page lays the whole path out level by level, says who each course is for, and links you straight to it.
All training is delivered live and online, with group seats and an admin dashboard for teams building a shared roadmap.
The levels at a glance
- Foundation - the entry point and shared vocabulary for everything above it.
- Practitioner modules - focused, practice-level courses for the work you do day to day.
- Specialist modules - deeper, integrated modules covering whole streams of service management.
- Strategist - governance, planning, and continual improvement across the organization.
- Leader - digital and IT strategy at the executive level.
Higher modules group toward the Managing Professional and Strategic Leader designations.

How the modules build toward designations
Once you hold Foundation, the higher modules stack toward two capstone designations:
- Managing Professional - earned from a defined set of the Specialist, Strategist, and operationally focused modules, aimed at hands-on practitioners running services and teams.
- Strategic Leader - earned from the strategy-facing modules, aimed at people shaping digital and IT direction.
Because the official requirements have shifted across releases, treat the groupings above as a planning guide and confirm the current rules with us before committing to a full route.
Which path by role
- Service-desk or operations analyst → Foundation, then the Practitioner modules you live in day to day (Incident, Problem, Service Desk, Service Request, Monitoring & Event).
- Service or operations manager → Foundation, then Create, Deliver & Support and Monitor, Support & Fulfil to integrate the whole stream.
- Relationship or customer-facing lead → Foundation, then Drive Stakeholder Value.
- DevOps / product-led delivery → Foundation, then High-Velocity IT.
- Program or transformation lead → Foundation, then Direct, Plan & Improve.
- IT director / executive → Foundation, then Digital & IT Strategy.
